Hendrick Gregg’s Death
The Story
Hendrick Gregg, my 3rd great grandfather was hit by a train while on his way to plan a house for his daughter.
Apparently he was simply lost in thought and didn’t hear the train coming up to the blind crossing.
My great grandfather Harrison Lewis Gregg I jotted down some notes based on conversations with his mother and father about the incident.
The wallet that Hendrick was carrying at the time has been handed down through the generations and ended up with me.
It contains several receipts from businesses in Milwaukee and Brookfield. There are also some interesting notes and ephemera.
